Structure

• Stage I (The Prelims)

Participating teams of maximum three members each will submit the Executive summaries of their business plans. The Executive summaries will be evaluated on the basis of concept, strategy of execution, market opportunity, organization structure, financials etc. 20 best teams will go to the stage II. 


• Stage II (B-Plan Submission)

The 20 selected teams each will submit their detailed B-plans in the format specified. Real life entrepreneurs from the industry will evaluate these B-plans and will shortlist the best 5 B-plans.


• Stage III (The Mentorship)

In this stage each of the 5 selected teams will receive a complete 1 month mentorship from some of the very good entrepreneurs who have made their mark as entrepreneurs. This gives the teams a chance to utilize and capitalize on knowledge, experience and enthusiasm of the esteemed mentors and bring out a refined B-plan.


• The Grand Finale

Each team with mentors along side will present its B-Plan to an eminent jury during Empresario 2009. The jury will include some of the leading VCs, Incubators, Bankers, etc. from the industry. The jury will select top 3 b-plans and winners will get a chance to receive seed funding or Rs 1 CRORE from SeedFund Advisors Pvt. Ltd. (subject to conditions of SeedFund).

Important Dates:

• Registration and Executive summary submission begins on : 16 Jul 2009
• Executive Summary Submission ends on : 18 Aug 2009
• Announcement of Stage 1 results on : 25 Aug 2009
   
• Submission of detailed B-Plans ends on : 05 Sep 2009
• Announcement of 5 finalists on : 15 Sep 2009
   
• Mentorship Begins on : 18 Sep 2009
• Submission of Final B-Plan and Presentations on : 15 Oct 2009
   
• Presentation of B-Plans to Jury on : 23-25 Oct 2009

1st Runners Up - INR 20K
2nd Runners Up - INR 10K

Rules and Procedures

• Empresario 2009 is open to all students of management, technology & engineering institutes.
• A team can have a maximum of three students.
• No student can be a part of more than one team.
• One team can submit only one entry.
• The members of the team may not be necessarily from the same institute.
• There is no restriction on the number of teams from an institute.

• Register yourself at http://empresario.nitie.in & note your identification no (ID No) and use this ID No as reference for all further communications.
• Send your executive summary to bplan.nitie@gmail.com with the subject of the mail as Bplan_ID No.
• Executive summary should be in PDF or Word Doc format.
• The executive summary should be of maximum four pages including cover page.
• Cover page should contain ID No, Project name, Institute name and Team leaders information (name, email id and contact number) along with other members information, and institutes name.
• Executive summary will be evaluated on the aspects of the concept, strategy of execution, market opportunity, organization structure, financials etc.
• Format details: Times New Roman, 12 point, 1.5 line spacing, 1" margins all around, A-4 page.
• Name your file as ID No_Project Name.
• Team Empresario will ensure that all the entries are kept absolutely confidential.

• B-Plan should be in PDF or DOC format.
• Final B-Plan should not exceed 10 pages.
• Format details: Times New Roman, 12 point, 1.5 line spacing, 1" margins all around, A-4 page.
• Final B-Plan would be evaluated on the basis of following points:
