Empresario celebrates the spirit of entrepreneurship. Empresario is an
endeavor to spread the wave - “Entrepreneurship
Everywhere”. It is all about the change creators, it's about
dreaming, about believing in beauty of your dreams, about the will to
chase the dreams and finally it's all about realizing them. Empresario,
the endeavor of PGDIE students at NITIE, brings to fore the enthusiasm
of the youth along with the experience and knowledge of industry
mentors. Empresario is for all those having a dream to create a venture
out of something or nothing.
Empresario this year brings to you the second edition of Navkriti,
the start-up showcase event that empowers the start-up community
by giving them a chance to present the ideas they have conceived
and implemented as a first step to realize their dreams,
along with their future prospects.
Some of our esteemed associates being TIE Mumbai, NEN,
Seedfund Advisors Pvt Ltd, Morpheus Venture Partners, Helion and
Nexus India Capital.
All the finalists will get a chance:

Structure
- Stage I
(Short listing)
The startups will have to submit their Executive summaries about their company
and a VC pitch presentation by 5 Oct ’09. Top 10 teams would be shortlisted.

Stage 2: Verification
10 shortlisted Companies would have to submit the scanned copies of the proof of
documents of registration of firm by 17 Oct ’09.
If any particular team fails to submit, the company in waitlist will get the opportunity.
- The Final
Day
All the 10 shortlisted companies will give presentation to a jury panel on 24 Oct '09,
who on the basis of the presentation would be awarding points. Apart from the
points from jury, the performance would be tested on a few preset
parameters. The startups will be awarded based on cumulative points
both from company performance and jury scores.

Seed Funding :
All the 5 finalists will get a chance to receive seed funding Upto
Rs 1 CRORE
from SeedFund Advisors Pvt. Ltd., Mumbai (subject to conditions applied
by SeedFund).
Rules and Procedures
- The event is open for all Indian citizens subject to
eligibility criteria as above.
- The participating team needs to first register on the
website and then send the softcopies of following documents:
- Executive Summary (in specified format)
- VC pitch Presentation
- Entries should be submitted sent to
navkriti.nitie@gmail.com with the subject line
Navkriti08_<registration id>_<company
name>. All the document files should be sent in a single file
winzip archive with the file name as <registration
id>_<company name>.zip
- The last date for submission of all entries would be
midnight, 5th Oct, 2009.
- The Executive summary should have a cover page containing
Registration ID, the name of the Business/company/firm, name of the
participants, e-mail ID and phone number of the participants. This
information should not appear in any other part of the report. The
cover page will be detached before the entries are given for panel
evaluation.
- The presentation should have a first slide containing
Registration ID, the name of the Business/company/firm, name of the
participants, e-mail ID and phone number of the participants.
- The initial shortlisted companies would need to send the
scanned copies of all the documents supporting the claims
made in the report by 17th Oct, 2009.
- The Finalist would be required to come to NITIE campus with
detailed presentation of their business/venture on 24th Oct, 2009.
- The duration of the presentation will be 20 minutes followed
by question and answers.
- The decisions of the organizers and the panel of judges
will be final and will be binding on all the participants.
Team Empresario would ensure that the
all the entries would be kept completely confidential.

- The company needs to be registered with Government of India.
- Only Partnership Firm or Private Ltd. Company are eligible
(Not for NGO’s, Sole Proprietorship, Public companies).
- Companies run by students are not eligible.
